Gemini

Gemini, The Twins, the sign that rules the conscience mind, is the third sign of the zodiac and represents the coming change of the early summer breeze. Gemini is the first Air sign and as such is the epitome of airiness, the mind of a Gemini is in constant flux with ideas and thoughts sometimes racing from one to the next.

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the fastest planet of the zodiac. Like Mercury, Gemini represents communication, or the delivery of messages to and from. Symbolized by the Greek god Hermes the messenger, Mercury is the messenger between heaven and earth, the mind and body. Therein lies the duality of Gemini, the mind and body, heaven and earth, they constantly oscillate between both worlds and as a result, the mind is restless. Gemini’s are often considered “Two Faced” and this is because they their moods are often dictated by their ever changing thoughts.

People born under this sign are often quite loquacious, this is a result of the lips struggling to keep up with their many thoughts. And due to the expressive nature of Gemini, these individuals tend to talk with their hands. If the chart is well aspected, these individuals can be great orators or salespeople because they can communicate ideas effectively. However, if there are difficult aspects to Mercury or similar, these individuals may struggle where communication is concerned.

As Gemini is the sign that rules the nervous system (the message carriers of signals from the brain to the body) they are apt to struggle with anxiety or tension. The ability to calm the mind is an extremely valuable tool for Gemini or anyone with a strong Mercury influence such as Virgo.
